Scale weight is not always the billed weight
Carriers may compare actual weight with a volume-based figure and charge using the applicable route rule. This is why a light parcel with large shoe boxes can cost more than its scale weight suggests. Check the current calculation shown for each route rather than applying one divisor to every service.

Reduce empty space deliberately
Removing an unnecessary retail box may reduce volume, but fragile or structured items may need protection. Choose packing for the contents rather than treating package removal as an automatic saving.
